Techies range from technicians to cybernetic specialists.Stoner nicknames
They are usually underground techies, who do "off-the-record" work. You can't leave anything alone - if it sits near you for more than five minutes, you've disassembled it and made it into something new. You've always got at least two screwdrivers and wrench in your pockets. Computer down? No problem. Hydrogen burner out in your Metrocar? Can't get the video to run or your interface plugs feedbacking? You make your living building, fixing and modifying - a crucial occupation in a technological world where no one person really knows how half the stuff works.
You can make some good bucks fixing everyday stuff, but for the serious money, you need to tackle the big jobs. Illegal weapons. Illegal or stolen cybertech. Corporate espionage and counterespionage gear for big boys' "black operations".
Neat little gadgets like thermite bombs and the hunter-killer robots for the occasional "termination". If you're any good, you're making a lot of money.
And that money goes into new gadgets, hardware and information. You'll buy almost any new thing - because it might have dozen side applications you can use. Of course, your black market work isn't just making you friends - it's also racking you up an impressive number of enemies as well; people who've run into your handywork and resented it. So you'll invest a lot in defense systems and, if really pushed to the wall, call a few new markers on a Solo or two. Your cousin down the street is like you, but he's a Medtechie.
In world where half of medicine is related to mechanics, it makes sense. He can do a black market surgical technique faster than you can fix a toaster and the Solos are always running to him to patch up wounds or install new illegal cybernetics.
He's got a lot of the same problems you have, but he's hoping his new job with Trauma Team Inc. You hope he's right. You may be needing his services sooner than you think. The many and varied roles available in the original Cyberpunk game have been refined down to just three options available to the player in Cyberpunk : TechieSolo and Netrunner. Classes in Cyberpunk are built with the progression of V's career and choices of various abilities in Night Cityand initial choices are not limiting: a build that begins as a solo-oriented build may evolve into a techie-based one as the game progresses, and so on.
Classes in Cyberpunk are intended to be fluid, giving players to chance to be free to play they want to play. In addition to a player's choices in terms of Classes, Skills and Abilities, their character's backstory, chosen at Character Creationwill also inform how the world and characters around them react to and interact with the player. In the tabletop game, Techie s fulfilled the crafting role of the game.
Slightly shady, they perform engineering and technical services on an 'off-the-record' basis for clients from all walks of life.
Techie 's skills with building traps, technological sabotage and hacking can be used to their advantage in combat scenarios. The Techie class' signature ability is ' Jury Rig ' which helps players achieve higher proficiency with improvised engineering. Solo classes provide the opportunity to play as a lone mercenary character, working as a hitman, bodyguard, or anything that else that pays well and offers violence. The Solo class' signature ability is ' Combat Sense ', giving them an increased sense of imminent dangers, traps and general harm.
The Netrunner s are the super-hackers of 's Night City, and seem likely to fulfil the same role in Cyberpunk 's.
Using high-tech brain-computer interfaces, Netrunner s plug themselves in and scour the internet in VR for high-value information to use as a weapon, or sell on the black market.
Netrunner Skills include areas such as programming, hacking, electronics and cybersecurity. Advanced cybernetic enhancements allow Netrunner s to essentially hack into the minds of their enemies and infect them with viruses. The Netrunnerto some extent, fulfills the traditional 'stealth' role in RPGs, but is realized very differently in the Cyberpunk universe. The Netrunner class' signature ability is ' Interface ', which allows them to directly interface with all sorts of technology, such as an enemy guard to access a building's security network.
Some classes from the tabletop game make a reappearance as non-playable classes, appearing as NPCs and Enemies.
These classes include but are not limited to :. Anarchic gangs of exiles from the corporate world, these Nomads wander the highways looking for fun - or trouble. At least two types of hackers appear to feature as non-playable classes. One of these uses computer viruses to complete his work, which is considered outdated by the Netrunner class, who uses far more high-tech solutions. Here we'll go over some part suggestions and general advice for building a Cyberpunk-ready PC.
The good news is that with the game now delayed until Septemberyou have some time to formulate your plan. We have an entire post explaining what ray tracing is and how it worksbut long story short, ray tracing involves tracing the path of a ray a beam of light within a 3D world. This allows lighting, reflections, shadows, and other effects to look more realistic than they do with traditional rasterization rendering techniques.
To take advantage of those graphical effects, you not only need a graphics card capable of ray tracing, but one powerful enough to do it while delivering a decent framerate at your chosen resolution.
The exact hardware requirements for Cyberpunk haven't been revealed yet, but we can make an educated guess on what kind of hardware you'll need.

Technically, even an RTX would suffice, but it likely won't maintain a steady 60 fps and may need some settings turned down a notch or two. The RTX Super and Ti are even more powerful cards, but they don't offer the same price-to-performance as the cheaper models—you pay a lot more, for only modest increases in performance in most games. If you're wondering, compared to the Super, the is only about 4 percent faster, the Super is 13 percent faster, and the Ti is up to 30 percent faster mostly at p or 4K.
You might also want a faster CPU, or at least one with more cores and threads. Building a PC yourself will save money, though you won't get the same service warranty and it's up to you to install fancy cooling and LED lighting if you want it.
Our PC building guide explains the basics, and PCPartPicker is a good way to ensure that your components are compatible with each other. You can go without an RTX graphics card, and Cyberpunk will still look pretty. It's difficult to know which corners we can cut here, since exact system requirements for Cyberpunk are unavailable, but we can speculate based on Red Dead Redemption 2's requirements —since that is also a new open world game.
The specs used for the E3 Cyberpunk demo also give us some clues, though that was running an early build of the game that may have been less forgiving to budget PCs. For this build, we've swapped out the overclockable Core iK with a cheaper Core iF—the 'F' means it has no integrated graphics, which we don't really need on a PC with a graphics card anyway.Standard form to vertex form worksheet
The GPU we've chosen here is still twice as fast as the Radeon RX —the minimum recommended graphics card for Red Dead Redemption 2—so it should handle Cyberpunk fine without cranking every setting up.

The basic rules system of Cyberpunk are called the Interlock System and work in a similar fashion to first edition rules, being skill-based rather than level -based; for successful play, players are awarded points to be spent on improving their characters' skill sets.
The combat system is called "Friday Night Firefight". The 3-phase combat rules of first edition have been discarded in favor of a simpler system. However, like first edition combat rules, "Friday Night Firefight" still emphasizes lethality. Unlike other role-playing systems where characters amass higher hit points as they progress, allowing them to survive higher amounts of combat damage, the amount of damage a character can sustain in Cyberpunk does not increase as the character develops.

Wednesday, January 16, Cyberpunk - Three Techie built devices. Techies are always in the need for some extra bucks to spend to buy more gear and add to their stockpile of junk to scavenge from. So there are three items that Techies have been known to make for the right price.
This is a small hand held device that can be built into most cellphones. It is a mix of both an app and some hardware. When you get near a vehicles door that has an electronic look, you activate the app which then spirals through a series of signal codes broadcast from the alterations made to the phone.
It takes a D10 of seconds and then the door unlocks.
Takes about an hour to build plus a day to write the app if you choose to do that yourself. Cannibalizing and old universal remote for televisions this device will turn off every television within a twenty foot radius. Altering the remote with a better power supply and a boosted signal broadcast it spirals through signals in ten seconds shutting off the televisions brand by brand.

While police and military issue spike strips are strictly illegal for civilians and very expensive to purchase on the black market any Techie can whip a set of their own up.
Usually packed into a briefcase or similar sized container these are pulled out and deployed in seconds. Spreading out to around ten feet in length with a nice array of steel spikes. One who isn't afraid to blow their hands off can build a set with small explosive charges that will blow the tires out for sure. A character generator for the Cyberpunk Role Playing Game. Cyberpunk was a game I played back in high school. I remember the character generation process taking a long time because the player had to roll a 10 sided dice over and over to determine things like attributes, skills, strengths and weaknesses, life events, etc.
This is a tool I would have created at that time if I had programming knowledge.Retroroms
